The Stars recalled Bourque last week ahead of Game 3 of their first-round matchup vs. Vegas.

The Dallas Stars have loaned forward Mavrik Bourque to the Texas Stars of the AHL ahead if their second-round playoff series against Milwaukee.

The Stars recalled Bourque from the Texas last week ahead of Game 3 of their first-round matchup with the Vegas Golden Knights amid some injury concerns among their forward group.

As the AHL’s top player this year — winning both league MVP and being named its scoring champion with 77 points (26 goals and 51 assists) — many hoped Bourque could bring a spark to a Stars’ offense that struggled to find the net through its two playoff games, but he was never placed in the lineup.
