TCU star point guard Mike Miles declares for NBA draft

Miles averaged 17.9 points per game this season, leading the Frogs to the NCAA Tournament.

TCU point guard Mike Miles is declaring for the NBA draft. The announcement was made on TCU’s campus Wednesday afternoon.

Miles declared for the 2022 draft after last season but changed his mind after a few weeks and returned to TCU. He claimed he had “unfinished business” and returned with the goal of making a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.

Miles played 27 games this season, scoring 15 or more points in 22 outings. In 2022-23, he was the most efficient 3-point shooter for head coach Jamie Dixon, shooting 36%.

Miles has been the focal point of the Frogs’ offense for the last two seasons. He steadily increased his points per game average, finishing his collegiate career averaging 17.9 points per game, which is second in the Big 12 Conference.

In 2022 and 2023, Miles led the Horned Frogs to the NCAA Tournament, where the team secured first-round wins. With the help of Miles’ elite level of play, the Frogs have changed the culture surrounding the basketball program.

Miles, the Preseason Big 12 Player of the Year, missed eight games due to injury this season. Still, Miles finished as an All-Big 12 Second Team member.

Now, Miles has his sights set on the NBA.
