Meet the 2021 early enrollees already at Texas A&M, including a pair of Denton Guyer four-star signees

Twelve members of A&M’s 2021 recruiting class have enrolled early.

After finishing out the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season with nine wins and a victory in the Orange Bowl, Texas A&M has had eight players announce their departure for the 2021 NFL draft.

To refill the depth chart, Jimbo Fisher’s 2021 recruiting class was ranked seventh nationally and fourth in the SEC by 247sports, and 12 members have enrolled early this spring:

Tunmise Adeleye, DE

A four-star recruit, defensive end Tunmise Adeleye chose the Aggies after decommitting from Ohio State last summer. The 6-3, 245-pound Katy native sat out his senior season due to the COVID-19 pandemic and joins three other defensive ends in A&M’s 2021 class.

Marcus Burris, DE

Four-star defensive end Marcus Burris is no stranger to success. During his time at Pleasant Grove High School, he helped lead the Hawks to three consecutive state championship games from 2017-19, earning the title of defensive MVP of the 4A-II state title game in 2019.

Shadrach Banks, WR

Shadrach Banks, a 6-foot, 220-pound North Shore product, provides depth to an A&M receiving corps that was lacking in 2020 as injuries and opt-outs hampered the unit. While the Aggies still have several talented receivers returning in 2021, Banks could find himself earning serious playing time if the Aggies face a similar situation to 2020.

Eli Stowers, QB

One of two 2021 commits from Denton Guyer, Eli Stowers joins a quarterback room of Haynes King and Zach Calzada in replacing the departing Kellen Mond. In his senior season at Denton Guyer, Stowers posted 2,487 passing yards with 18 touchdowns to 12 interceptions.

Elijah Jeudy, DE

One of five out-of-state commits for the Aggies, defensive end Elijah Jeudy hails from Northeast High School in Philadelphia. Jeudy was committed to Georgia until Sept. 15, 2020, and received offers from 35 schools before selecting the Aggies during the early signing period.

Jahzion Harris, DE

Out of Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, Jahzion Harris was the fourth defensive end to sign with the Aggies in December. The 6-4, 215-pound signee was ranked the No. 2 player in the state of New York and the No. 14 player nationally at his position, according to 247sports.

Deuce Harmon, CB

Deuce Harmon rounds out the Aggies’ Denton Guyer duo, heading to Aggieland as the No. 15 cornerback in the nation in the class of 2021. Harmon played in seven games in the 2020 season, finishing his high school career with 106 total tackles, nine interceptions and one sack, despite missing the playoffs with a back injury.

Trey Zuhn, OT

A&M is losing left tackle Dan Moore Jr. to the draft, so the Aggies could turn to Trey Zuhn to replace him in 2021. Coming in at 6-6, the four-star Zuhn is the tallest member of the Aggies’ 2021 class.

Amari Daniels, RB

Running back Amari Daniels was the first of two four-star commits from Miami Central High to sign with the Aggies in December. The 5-8, 200-pound Daniels recorded 890 rushing yards on 88 attempts, adding seven touchdowns, and will join a running back rotation loaded with stars in Isaiah Spiller and Devon Achane.

Yulkeith Brown, ATH

Joining Daniels from Miami Central is Yulkeith Brown, who played snaps at both wide receiver and cornerback throughout his high school career. Brown helped Miami Central to the 6-A Florida state championship, earning Offensive MVP in the title game.

Matthew Wykoff, OT

The second offensive line signee in the Aggies’ 2021 class, tackle Matthew Wykoff was ranked a three-star prospect out of Magnolia. With three members of its offensive line announcing their departure for the NFL draft, A&M will be looking to its newcomers to rebuild the successful unit, and Wykoff could be high on the Aggies’ list.

Tyreek Chappell, CB

Rounding out the early enrollees is cornerback Tyreek Chappell, who is relocating from his hometown of Philadelphia to play for the Aggies. Like Jeudy, Chappell also spent his high school career at Northeast High School, and was ranked the No. 15 prospect in the state of Pennsylvania in the 2021 class.
