Former Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel to return to Kyle Field for 2021 Aggie Legends Flag Football Game

Manziel will be joined by several other former A&M players on Kyle Field at halftime of the Aggies’ spring game.

At halftime of this year’s spring football game, former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel will make his return to Aggieland as the all-time quarterback for the Aggie Legends Flag Football Game.

Manziel, the 2012 Heisman winner, played for the Aggies from 2012-2013 before spending two seasons in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns, as well as time with various teams in the Canadian Football League and the Alliance of American Football.

The Legends Game will feature two teams — Team Pickard and Team Crow — full of former A&M players.

Team Pickard, also called the Maroon squad, is coached by Jackie Sherrill, who was head coach of the Aggies from 1982-1988 and started the tradition of the 12th Man kickoff team. A&M Hall of Fame member, former cornerback Kevin Smith will serve as coordinator.

Joining Manziel on the roster are safety Chet Brooks, defensive back Domingo Brooks, center Mark Dennard, wide receiver Jeff Fuller Jr., running back Christine Michael, wide receiver Uzoma Nwachukwu, wide receiver Carl Roaches, cornerback Pat Thomas and linebacker Aaron Wallace.

Team Crow, or the White squad, will be led by two former A&M running backs: head coach Bubba Bean and coordinator Dante Hall.

The team’s roster includes defensive end Phil Bennett, defensive tackle Ray Childress, cornerback Sammy Davis, defensive end Eric England, offensive guard Geoff Hangartner, quarterback Edd Hargett, wide receiver Bethel Johnson, running back Sirr Parker and cornerback Floyd Raven.

The Legends Game is scheduled to take place at halftime of the Aggies’ annual spring game on April 24.
