Texas A&M QB Haynes King enters transfer portal, per reports; Denver Harris also leaving

After three seasons marked by injury and benching, King enters the portal as a graduate transfer. CB Denver Harris will also transfer.

Texas A&M quarterback Haynes King will enter the transfer portal on Friday, according to multiple reports. Corner back Denver Harris tweeted Friday that he would also transfer.

After a series of underwhelming performances, King was benched in favor of LSU transfer Max Johnson before taking the field once again after Johnson’s injury. However, following an impressive start from true freshman Conner Weigman against Ole Miss, it became clear that A&M had finally found its true QB1.

King finishes off his season with six games played where he threw 187 passes for 104 completions, 1,220 yards, seven touchdowns and six interceptions. During his career at A&M, he only appeared in 10 games total largely due to his season-ending injury last year.
