AP college football poll (Oct. 27): SMU Mustangs, Texas A&M Aggies on the rise

Multiple area programs picked up big wins on Saturday as the CFP chase continues.

The race to the inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff continues as the calendar gets ready to flip to November.

Texas bounced back against Vanderbilt. Texas A&M made a statement against LSU. Meanwhile, SMU stayed unbeaten in ACC play with an unlikely victory over Duke.

While the Longhorns dropped a spot in the AP Top 25, the Aggies and Mustangs both found themselves on the rise heading into Week 10.
