National reaction to Texas’ win over Texas Tech: Why wasn’t Casey Thompson QB1 to start the season?

Texas put up 70 points for the first time since its 2005 National Championship-winning season, and Longhorn fans certainly enjoyed the show.

Not only were Longhorn fans entertained by Texas’ 70-point display, but there were also plenty of interesting moments in the contest to behold. From body slams to Texas’ defense lining up in an I-Formation — and even someone dressed as Santa Claus running around the field, evading security — the Longhorn win over TTU had it all.

The play on the field was certainly something to behold as well, with Texas putting up 639 yards of total offense, Casey Thompson picking up six total touchdowns and Bijan Robinson being his electric self.

Here are some of the national reactions to the resounding Texas win.
