Cedric Baxter, a four-star running back out of Edgewater, Florida, committed to Texas on Wednesday.
He chose Texas over Texas A&M and Florida, among others. Baxter is the second running back to join Texas’ 2023 recruiting class, following Tre Wisner’s commitment back in April.

Baxter is ranked No. 48 nationally on 247Sports’ Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 4 running back in his class. Last season, he had 1,718 yards on 202 attempts and 30 touchdowns for Edgewater. The Edgewater Eagles went 10-2 on their season and 4-0 in district play last season.
