Southlake Carroll’s Andrej Karic among 3 Dallas-area HS products transferring from Texas

Texas had six players announce they would enter the transfer portal Tuesday.

The transfer portal continues to make its mark on college sports. Several Texas Longhorns players, including three Dallas-area high school products, won’t play in burnt orange in 2023.

Sophomore offensive lineman Andrej Karic (Southlake Carroll), sophomore edge rusher Prince Dorbah (Highland Park) and defensive back JD Coffey III (Kennedale) all announced they were entering the transfer portal Tuesday, along with Troy Omeire, Jamier Johnson and D.J. Harris.

The Longhorns (8-4) improved after a disappointing start to the Steve Sarkisian era in 2021 and await a solid bowl game after missing a Big 12 Championship game bid.
