Texas Longhorns starting quarterback Quinn Ewers will miss a second straight game after he was ruled out for the SEC opener against Mississippi State on Saturday.
Ewers returned to practice this week after suffering a non-contact abdominal strain in Week 3 against UTSA. He was listed as questionable for Saturday’s game before being ruled out nearly 90 minutes before kickoff.
Arch Manning, the top recruit in the nation from the Longhorns’ 2023 class, has played well in Ewers’ absence and appears to be on pace to make his second straight start.
In three games this season, Manning has completed 29-of-47 passes for 576 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for 49 yards and two touchdowns. Manning led the Longhorns to a 51-3 win over ULM in his lone start last week.
