Matthew McConaughey issues statement on Texas fans throwing trash on field: ‘Bogey move’

McConaughey wasn’t happy with Longhorns fans throwing debris on the field during Texas’ primetime clash with Georgia.

Alright, alright, alright, that’s enough.

Following a controversial call that initially went against Texas but was later reversed, Longhorns fans started throwing trash and debris onto the field.

“But let’s get real about the bottle bombing the field glitch we had,” he said. “Not cool. Bogey move.”

University of Texas president Jay Hartzell also sent a letter to students regarding the incident, as the trash thrown on the field came from the student section.

“Late in the third quarter, a sizable number of our students endangered others and embarrassed Longhorn Nation by throwing bottles and trash onto the field,” he wrote. “This was only our third conference game as a new member of the SEC, so our fellow SEC institutions are just getting to know us. These actions made a bad early impression on Georgia and our new conference colleagues, and harmed your University’s reputation before a national audience.”

Texas’ next home game isn’t until November 9, when the Longhorns face Florida.
