Texas Tech QB Alan Bowman announces he’s entering the transfer portal

Bowman, who plans to graduate from Tech in May, will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Texas Tech redshirt sophomore quarterback Alan Bowman has entered the NCAA transfer portal, he announced via Twitter on Friday morning.

The Grapevine native was likely to find himself in the mix of a heated quarterback battle this spring with Henry Colombi, Donovan Smith and incoming four-star freshman Behren Morton.

Injuries were a problem for Bowman throughout his Red Raider career. He missed games in all three years while at Tech and earned a medical redshirt after missing the majority of the 2019 season.

Bowman says he will graduate from Tech in May, entering the portal as a graduate transfer with three years of eligibility remaining wherever he goes.

“I will forever be a proud alumnus of Texas Tech University and will always cherish the memories I’ve made here,” Bowman said in a statement. “I cannot wait to see where this journey takes me next.”
