Texas Tech kicker Reese Burkhardt flashes Donald Trump message after scoring on fake FG

After scoring on a trick play, Burkhardt appeared to flash a message in support of former President Donald Trump.

FORT WORTH — Texas Tech trailed TCU 14-3 at Amon G. Carter Stadium on Saturday after a rough start defensively.

After Tech forced a fumble with a strip-sack from sophomore defensive end Harvey Dyson III, the Red Raiders offense couldn’t punch the ball in on its first three attempts and appeared to be content with settling for a fourth-down field goal.

Kicker Reese Burkhardt trotted out for what would’ve been a 17-yard field goal attempt. Instead, the ball was flipped to Burkhardt on a fake and he punched it in for a 4-yard touchdown. In Burkhardt’s celebration, he lifted up his jersey to reveal a message on his white shirt underneath. The words appeared to be in support of former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president. When the replay is slowed, the shirt reads “Trump 2024 MAGA.”
