Boots and BBQ Fest
Legacy Hall’s Memorial Day weekend party will feature live country music by tribute bands, including Straight Tequila Night and Sons of Bocephus, and a barbecue plate special for $25 (advance ordering available) with brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage and sides. The food hall’s two dozen restaurants and bars will also be open.

Epic Summer Bash
Epic Waters, Grand Prairie’s 800,000-square-foot water park complex, will welcome summer with special activities on Memorial Day weekend. Epic Waves, a 10,000- square-foot outdoor pool that creates 4-foot waves at 10-minute intervals, will reopen for the season, and there will be live music, dance parties and other entertainment. The park also includes a new 70-foot-tall water slide named Locura, a 600-foot lazy river, a FlowRider surfing simulator, the Aquanaut inner-tube ride and Rascal’s Roundup, an area for little ones. There’s also a cafe, a bar and lounge, and an arcade with classic and current games.

Concerts in the Garden
This year, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s family-friendly outdoor concert series kicks off on Memorial Day weekend. In honor of the holiday, there will be a Patriotic Pops concert on May 27 featuring American music and marches and a new drone fireworks display. The weekend will also include Windborne’s The Music of Queen on May 26 and Music of Harry Potter on May 28. Blankets, lawn chairs and outside food and beverages, including alcohol, are permitted, and you can also purchase concessions or pre-order a Central Market picnic meal in advance. The lawn and tables open at 6:30 p.m., with performances beginning at 8:30 p.m.

Memorial Day at the Texas Pool
The Texas-shaped pool listed on the National Register of Historic Places will open for its 62nd summer season with a Memorial Day pool party with games and a photo booth. There will be a flag ceremony and bugler at 3 p.m. for the National Moment of Remembrance. Coolers, chairs and canopies are permitted, but no alcoholic beverages are allowed. The snack bar and a food truck will sell concessions.

Memorial Day Grandscape
FREE The Grandscape retail and entertainment development will celebrate Memorial Day with two very different events. Start the day with a patriotic ceremony by American Legion Post 21 from 11 a.m. to noon. Then end it with the Parrot Head Party from 5 to 8 p.m. The Jimmy Buffett-inspired event will feature music from cover band 5 O’Clock Somewhere. Both events take place at the Topo Chico Hard Seltzer Stage and Lawn.
