Inside Dee’s Table, a Frisco restaurant from Dallas ‘steak queen’

On the menu: burgers, Cajun food, tacos and more.

Dee’s Table is new at The Star in Frisco, but the menu is littered with old Dallas stories.

First of all, there’s the Double J Sandwich, named for Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. It’s a sliced tenderloin sandwich for $25 dressed with tomato, red onion, remoulade and arugula. Used to be, Jones would stop into sibling restaurant Dee Lincoln Prime — about 300 feet from the new Dee’s Table — and chefs would whip up an off-the-menu steak sandwich made just the way Jones liked it.

Restaurant owner Dee Lincoln added it to the menu at her more casual restaurant Dee’s Table, which is expected in July 2024. Dee’s Table replaces Wahlburgers, a celebrity-backed chain that closed in Frisco in fall 2023.

Another Dallas touch at Dee’s Table is the food from the storied “steak queen” herself. She founded Del Frisco’s and currently owns Dee Lincoln Prime. So at her new restaurant, beef plays big. Nine burgers are on the menu, four of which are made with Wagyu.

The Lincoln, named for the boss, is a $17 burger topped with shrimp peppercorn fondue. It should remind North Texans of a burger at the erstwhile Dee Lincoln Steak and Burger Bar in Uptown Dallas, which Lincoln once owned. Another local touch.

Dee’s Table wraps Lincoln’s Louisiana upbringing into the menu for the first time in her career. The New Orleans-style “pastalaya” ($19) is a bowl of jambalaya that swaps the rice for penne pasta. It’s one of Lincoln’s favorite recipes to make at home.

She also added a Big Easy Salad — shrimp, crispy okra, avocado, tomato and more on a bed of greens dressed in vinaigrette ($16) — a Shrimp Po Boy ($15) and Shrimp Hushpuppies ($11). They remind her of New Orleans.

“I’ve never had the opportunity to put my Louisiana roots in a place where it fit,” Lincoln said during a tour of the new restaurant before it opened.

Dee’s Table was created to be a lunch spot for Lincoln’s “VIPs” — the regulars at her nearby steakhouse, which is open for dinner only. She adds that Dee’s Table has the potential to be a magnet for those who like burgers or a casual spot for kids, too.

It’s rare at a Lincoln restaurant, but Dee’s Table has a kids menu. Chicken tenders, mac and cheese, a burger and more cost just $6.

There’s also a $7 Frito pie served in the bag with house-made chorizo chili. Seems like a fine option for those who grab a seat at the bar for a happy hour drink.

Other menu items include three varieties of tacos, priced at $10 to $12, entrees like short ribs with slaw ($27) and chicken with dirty rice ($21).

“There’s a casual vibe, but customers are going to feel the warmth and hospitality of who I am,” Lincoln said.

Dee’s Table Burgers & More is at 3685 The Star Blvd., Frisco. It’s expected to open July 1, 2024, with a grand opening on July 8, 2024.
