Seafood and steak restaurant Even Coast opened today, Aug. 19, 2024, on Belt Line Road in Far North Dallas, near Addison.
Lauded Dallas chef Omar Flores, who became a restaurant darling more than a decade ago when he was named one of the Dallas Morning News’ best chefs in Dallas-Fort Worth, was known previously for his restaurant Casa Rubia in Trinity Groves in West Dallas. He later opened chicken and biscuit shop Whistle Britches and Tex-Mex restaurant Muchacho, which are still in operation in Dallas, Southlake and Plano.
Even Coast is his new neighborhood restaurant with a slightly fancier feel.
The restaurant on Belt Line Road is close to Dallas-born Mexican restaurant Mesero and down the street from the spate of restaurants near the Dallas North Tollway in Addison, including Postino, Loro, Vidorra, Neighborhood Services, Kenny’s Italian Kitchen and more.
The menu has a something-for-everyone feel.
Seafood starters include oysters, smoked salmon dip and yellowtail crudo. Appetizers offer steak tartare, burrata with pomegranate molasses vinaigrette and crispy calamari. The house-made pastas seem like a must — especially if you’re sharing — with options of crab bucatini, Bolognese mafalde and pesto fusilli. Sandwiches include double-double cheeseburger and a lobster roll. Then it’s onto mains: steaks, Texas redfish, scallops, Spanish octopus and the like.
Most entrees run $29 to $43; steaks are priced up to $135.
The restaurant, washed in blue with curved banquettes, was designed to feel like a “beautiful neighborhood restaurant,” Flores said in a statement.
Even Coast is at 5463 Belt Line Road, Dallas. Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.
