GARLAND -- Garland quarterback Jayden Norwood ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more in his team's 38-32 win over North Garland.

Norwood's 47-yard touchdown pass on 4th-and-7 with 5:51 left in the game gave Garland the go-ahead score, and Keyunte King's 32-yard touchdown run two minutes later added a needed insurance score.

Garland overcame a 14-0 deficit to take a 38-24 lead with 3:18 left before North Garland's Godspower Nwawulhe punched it in from 1 yard out with 1:32 remaining. But Garland clinched its 9-6A opener when it recovered an onside kick and ran out the clock.

Norwood completed 6-of-9 passes for 115 yards and ran for 97. Both touchdown throws were to Javien Hudson, who led Garland (2-1, 1-0) with 86 receiving yards.
Garland's King led all rushers with 122 yards on 19 carries.

Nwawulhe had a hand in all four touchdowns by North Garland (1-2, 0-1 District 9-6A). Nwawulhe threw for 222 yards and one touchdown. He ran for three others.
