CROWLEY — North Crowley quarterback Chris Jimerson passed for 249 yards and accounted for six touchdowns, leading North Crowley High School to a 50-12 win over Arlington Sam Houston in Friday night's season opener at Panther Stadium.
Jimerson, a sophomore, completed 14 of 22 passes and added 63 yards on the ground. Receiver Ka'Morreun Pimpton had three receiving touchdowns, finishing with five catches for 99 yards. Brandon Lacy added 107 yards on the ground for the Panthers.
Malachi Pearson's 87-yard kickoff return touchdown cut North Crowley's lead to 13-12 with 3:58 left in the first quarter. The ensuing extra point was blocked and returned for a 2-point conversion, making it 15-12 North Crowley and the Panthers never looked back, scoring 37 unanswered points.
Quarterback Andre Saulsbury completed 10 of 20 passes for 153 yards for Sam Houston.
