Irving – Quarterback Vaughn McKeever threw for 271 yards and five touchdowns in The Woodlands John Cooper’s dominant 48-13 victory over Cistercian on Friday night at Hawks Field.
Running Back Dean Calhoun rushed for his second touchdown of the night to open up the second half, which gave John Cooper (5-1, 3-0 SPC 3A) a 35-0 lead and ensured no Cistercian (4-2, 0-2 SPC 3A) comeback. Calhoun ended with 53 yards rushing and 42 yards receiving along with a touchdown.
McKeever found five different receivers in the game but mainly threw to wide receiver Kielar Sullivan all night who finished with 11 receptions for 130 yards and three touchdowns.
Quarterback Dan O’ Toole was responsible for both John Cooper touchdowns. He finished with only four incompletions and 224 yards passing.
