Arlington police seeking public’s help to solve homicide of 19-year-old

Evan Lacey’s body was found in a wooded area in south Arlington in January 2020.

Arlington police are asking for the public’s help to solve a homicide of a 19-year-old killed nearly two years ago.

Evan Lacey was last seen on Dec. 17, 2019 when he left his home in Arlington for work that morning.

Four days later, his vehicle was found in southeast Fort Worth, and police said evidence inside his car indicated foul play.

Police said in the post that they have followed every every lead but need “that one piece of information that will ultimately lead to an arrest.”

In an KXAS-TV (NBC 5) report earlier this year, Lacey’s father, Van Lacey, urged people to come forward with tips.

“I just want everyone to think if it was you, if it was your relative, if it was your child — how would you feel?” Van Lacey told the station. “You would want someone to speak up. So I’m just begging, pleading for someone to speak up. Even if you feel as though it’s a minute new detail, nothing is too small. Everything helps. So please speak up for Evan, speak up for my family and speak up for justice.”
