Cowboys RT Terence Steele didn’t think he’d make it through camp, never mind start the first 2 games

And odds are he’ll start again Sunday against Seattle.

FRISCO — Terence Steele wasn’t sure if he would make the 53-man roster as an undrafted rookie free agent from Texas Tech. Not only did he make it, he’s started the first two games of the season at right tackle.

Steele likely will start again Sunday against Seattle. He earned the gig when starter La’el Collins was placed on injured reserve with hip and conditioning issues. Steele also beat out Cam Erving, a six-year veteran on injured reserve with a sprained knee.

“I really had no idea if I was going to even make it through camp, honestly,” Steele said. “But like I said, I had that mind-set coming in that I was going to make them keep me on here somehow, just through my work ethic and my film study. Whatever role they needed me in, I told myself I was going to come in and make it, no matter what the circumstance was.”

Briefly: CB Trevon Diggs (shoulder) was a full participant in practice. CB Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring), LT Tyron Smith (stinger) and DE DeMarcus Lawrence (knee) missed practice.
